Hornum M et al. – A high prevalence of pre–diabetes, impaired insulin resistance, increased arterial stiffness of aorta as well as impaired augmentation index and vasodilatation was demonstrated in uraemic patients prior to kidney transplantation. Increased arterial stiffness of aorta and augmentation index were independently associated with age and blood pressure.
