Shirey MR et al. – The transition from nursing student to graduate nurse and beyond represents a challenging evolution. Although many resources are available to explain the career progression of new graduates and to help them with entry into the profession, fewer resources exist to assist nurses in planning a successful long–term career trajectory. This article provides an overview of a developmental model for planning at various stages of career progression.
