Plasma C-Reactive Protein Levels Are Associated With Improved Outcome in ARDS
Chest, 05/06/09
Bajwa EK et al. - Increasing plasma levels of C-reactive protein within 48 h of ARDS are associated with improved survival, lower organ failure scores, and fewer days of mechanical ventilation. These data appear to be contrary to the established view of C-reactive protein solely as a marker of systemic inflammation.
