Pyogenic granuloma, also called septic granuloma or botryomycoma, is a lobular capillary hemangioma that mostly occurs on the skin but that also is seen on the mucosal surface of the oral cavity, especially the tongue and gingiva. A few cases have been reported in the gastrointestinal tract, mainly in the colon, but also in the esophagus and rarely the small intestine.
