Golomb MR – Perinatal stroke can result in cerebral palsy, cognitive impairment, epilepsy, and sensory deficits. While some children only experience one type of disability, severe disabilities often cluster together. Death associated with perinatal stroke is rare, and often associated with other comorbidities. Clinical and radiographic factors can help predict outcome, but additional as–yet unknown factors appear to contribute to outcome as well.
