O'Mahony D - EMRs are feasible in rural general practice. This EMR system runs on open source software such that it can be freely used and adapted by other primary care providers. Telephonic and remote internet support was essential in solving hardware and software malfunctions. A designated person in the practice must learn to do computer maintenance.
