| Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy is the commonest idipathic generalized epilepsy seen in clinical practice. Misdiagnosis may result in failure of treatment with appropriate AEDs. Focal clinical and EEG features are seen in JME, especially in those with uncontrolled seizures. One must be aware of the occurrence of focal clinical & EEG features in JME for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. This can be made by good clinical history with an EEG showing generalised epileptiform discharges. |
