Hattori N et al. – Macroprolactinaemia is a common disorder and causes hyperprolactinaemia in a healthy population. The major aetiology of macroprolactin in the subjects was complexes of prolactin–IgG comprising mainly anti–prolactin autoantibodies, and other minor complex prolactin species.
