Neuroprotective effects of laminin and its KDI domain
Future Neurology, 10/08/09
Liesi P – Understanding the role of laminins and their small biologically active peptide domains, such as the KDI (lysine–aspartic acid–isoleucine) peptide from gamma–1 laminin, in neuronal development, CNS trauma (spinal cord injury and stroke) and neurodegenerative disorders (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease) may help to develop clinically applicable methods to treat the presently untreatable CNS diseases and trauma even in the near future.
