Kusbeci OY et al. – PD is associated with decreased salivary production, abnormally high electrolyte and low amylase concentrations. Drooling of saliva is caused by concomitant swallowing difficulties. Thus, using botulinum toxin or anticolinergic drugs in treatment of drooling may cause xerostomia.
