Sas AMG et al. – Childhood ischemic stroke is a rare complication of herpes simplex virus type–1 encephalitis. The authors describe a previously healthy 3–year–old girl who presented with bilateral occipital ischemic stroke, attributable to herpes simplex virus type–1 encephalitis, highlighting the importance of viral diagnostics in cerebrospinal fluid.
