Stockner H et al. – The first case-control study assessing midbrain echogenicity in a large idiopathic RBD (iRBD) cohort vs age- and sex-matched healthy controls finds that increased prevalence of hyperechogenicity in pt subgroup with a priori increased risk for Parkinson's disease (PD) supports the potential role of hyperechogenicity as a risk marker for PD. Prospective follow-up of this iRBD cohort must establish if pts with midbrain hyperechogenicity will develop clinically defined PD.
