Kleinpeter MA – Vigilance must be maintained during hurricane season in hurricane–prone communities. Recovery from disasters and emergency situations begins with prior preparation for a variety of situations. The dialysis community needs to continue to participate in these disaster and emergency preparedness activities and to play key leadership roles in protecting their vulnerable patient populations. The global community is ready to respond when disasters occur, but recovery begins with the local plan and response activities.
