Pun PH et al. – The analysis found that reductions in the eGFR in CKD stages 3–5 are associated with a progressive increase in risk of sudden cardiac death in patients with coronary artery disease. Additional studies are needed to better characterize the mechanisms by which reduced kidney function increases this risk.
