Spencer JD et al. – The authors report two cases of children with hemoglobin C trait who presented with persistent painless hematuria. Because it is possible that hematuria in a patient with hemoglobin C trait is purely coincidental, all patients with a hemoglobinopathy and hematuria should undergo a complete evaluation so as not to overlook other causes of hematuria.
