Botelho C et al. - Renal involvement in systemic lupus erythematosus is one of the most typical aspects of the disease. Non -lupus nephritis has rarely been reported in these patients. A case of a female patient with a well established clinical diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus in whom the renal biopsy unexpectedly revealed IgA nephropathy, without any superimposed features of lupus nephritis is reported.
