Plasma Fatty Acid Composition as a Predictor of Arterial Stiffness and Mortality
Hypertension, 03/30/09
Anderson SG et al. - The data suggest that plasma fatty acid profiles characterized by a higher proportion of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids are associated with decreased cardiovascular mortality, independent of the impact of aortic PWV. The results are consistent with an effect of dietary sources of n-3 long-chain polyunsaturates influencing arterial stiffness and mortality.
