Health sector at loggerheads on financing

The health sector is heading into the 2020 summit divided as nurses and reformers try to loosen the doctors' grip over healthcare funding while doctors' groups are at loggerheads with each other over financing models. The Australian Nursing Federation's submission to the summit pushes for nurses and midwives to be assigned provider numbers, arguing that the health system "should not focus exclusively on GP services".
