Sodhi N et al. – Rehabilitation psychiatry is an exciting career option with many opportunities to participate in developments in service provision and evidence based management of chronic disabling illnesses. The specialty is working hard to establish firmly a role in rehabilitation that extends beyond rehousing people who have been institutionalised. The principles of empowerment, inclusion, and recovery are central to its ethos and that of modern day psychiatry.
