Hematopoietic Stem Cell Mobilization into the peripheral circulation in patients with chronic liver diseases
Journal of Digestive Diseases, 08/09/2012
Ghanem LY et al. – Various degrees of severity in CLD neither evoked mobilization of bone marrow–derived hematopoietic stem cells (BMHSCs) into the circulation nor triggered their homing into liver tissue, thus excluding extrahepatic stem cell–mediated repair. The recovery process seems to be dependent on proliferating endogenous liver progenitors (OV6+ cells).
