Genetic factors regulating inflammation and DNA methylation associated with prostate cancer
Prostate Cancer & Prostatic Diseases, 08/01/2012
Ianni M et al. – Single–nucleotide polymorphisms in vascular endothelial growth factor, interleukin–10 and glycine–N–methyltransferase (GNMT) genes might have a synergistic role in the development of prostate cancer (PCa). The GNMT T allele may influence PCa risk by affecting DNA methylation and prostate gene expression. The authors' observations might help implement the screening of unaffected subjects with an increased susceptibility to develop PCa.
