Grasso LFS et al. – Pharmacological management plays a pivotal role in the treatment of acromegaly, and first–line medical therapy with somatostatin analogs (SSAs) is being widely used in clinical practice, either prior to surgery or in patients who are otherwise poor surgical candidates and in those in whom there is a low probability of a surgical cure.
