Panitumumab: a guide to its use in metastatic colorectal cancer
Drugs & Therapy Perspectives, 06/04/2012
Keating GM – Panitumumab, an anti–epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) monoclonal antibody, prolongs progression–free survival in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer and wild–type KRAS tumours when administered intravenously in combination with FOLFOX as first–line treatment, in combination with FOLFIRI as second–line treatment, or as monotherapy in chemotherapy–refractory disease. It has an acceptable tolerability profile, is associated with the skin–related toxicities characteristic of EGFR inhibitors and appears to have a low risk of immunogenicity.
