Protein intake and fracture risk in elderly people: A case-control study

Martinez–Ramirez MJ et al. – Patients with fracture history have lower animal protein intake (API) suggesting that high API reduce the occurrence of osteoporotic fractures (OP) in elderly even if calcium intake (CaI) is <800 mg/day. A protein intake (PI)<15% of total calories were associated with an increased risk of OP in elderly.
