Lirk P et al. – The findings suggest that demethylating tumour–suppressive effects of anaesthetic interventions may only be detectable in specific types of cancer due to differential methylation profiles. At clinically relevant concentrations, lidocaine demethylates DNA of breast cancer cell lines in vitro.
