Nunley PD et al. – The risk of developing adjacent segment degeneration was equivalent at median 38 months after both anterior cervical fusion and total disc arthroplasty procedures in cervical degenerative disc disease (DDD). Osteopenia and concurrent lumbar DDD significantly increase the risk of adjacent level disease (ALD).
