Multi–frequency bioimpedance analysis–derived total body water change has the best agreement with acute clinical volume change during hemodialysis compared to extracellular volume or intracellular volume change alone, but overall degree of precision remains poor. Nutritional assessment using lean body mass and body cell mass measurements is significantly confounded by hydration status.
