Coronary risk estimates and decisions on lipid-lowering treatment in primary prevention: Comparison between general practitioners, internists, and cardiologists
European Journal of Internal Medicine , 09/29/09
Vancheri F et al. – When presented with the same set of clinical cases, GPs, internists and cardiologists make different quantitative risk estimates and come to different conclusions about the need for lipid–lowering treatment. This may result in over– or under–prescription of lipid–lowering drugs and inconsistencies in the care provided by different categories of doctors.
