Mustafa S et al. – A review focuses on epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) production, metabolism, isomerism and vasodilatory effects discusses potential mechanisms of action as well as the role of EETs in insulin secretion and sensitivity and their implication in diabetes mellitus and the metabolic syndrome. Also addressed are drugs affecting EET bioavailability and action as promising agents for treatment of hypertension/insulin resistance and the effects of these agents in experimental vascular disorders.
