Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a condition that includes both Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, can affect children under two, scientists have claimed. Data from an Italian study that has run for 20 years has found an increase in the number of IBD cases seen not only among adults, but surprisingly also in children younger than two years of age.
