Anakinra in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other IL-1-driven conditions
Nordstrom, D.C., et al. - Fewer than 40% of newly diagnosed patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) reach remission with a combination of traditional DMARDs, and therefore new effective therapies are still needed. Proinflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-alpha and IL-1, are important pathogenetic mediators in RA and related conditions.
