Deep subcutaneous adipose tissue is more saturated than superficial subcutaneous adipose tissue International Journal of Obesity, 05/30/2012

Lundbom J et al. – The higher saturation in deep SAT (DSAT) compared with superficial SAT (SSAT) can be attributed to a higher ratio of saturated to monounsaturated fatty acids (FAs). These results should be taken into account when determining the FA composition of subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT).
