Inhibition of Ca2+-activated Cl- channel ANO1/TMEM16A expression suppresses tumor growth and invasiveness in human prostate carcinoma
Cancer Letters, 08/09/2012
Liu W et al. – The findings provide compelling evidence that upregulation of Ca2+–activated Cl- channels (CaCCs) ANO1 is involved in the proliferation, progression and pathogenesis of metastatic prostate cancer. Membrane ANO1 protein may therefore serve as a biomarker, and inhibition of overexpressed ANO1 has potential for use in prostate cancer therapy.
