Mink SN et al. – The finding of honeycombing as the predominant high–resolution computed tomography (HRCT) feature suggests the diagnosis of usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) and may exclude the need for biopsy. Predominant features of ground glass opacities (GGOs) are not specific enough to distinguish between nonspecific interstitial pneumonitis (NSIP) and UIP.
