Xu F et al. – In recent years, hundreds of gene loci associated with multiple cardiovascular pathologies and traits have been identified through high–throughput Next–Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology. Due to the increasing efficiency and decreasing cost of NGS, rapid progresses anticipated in the field of CVD research. This review summarizes the main strategies of CV research with NGS at the level of genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, and proteomics.
