Quantitative Computerized Two-Point Correlation Analysis of Lung CT Scans Correlates with Pulmonary Function in Pulmonary Sarcoidosis
Erdal BS et al. – The authors found high correlation between lung texture score and FVC, TLC and DLCO. Moreover, lung texture score was equivalent to PFTs for detection of active lung disease. The image analysis protocol was conducted quickly on a standard laptop computer connected to a publicly available NIH Image J Toolkit. Thus, the two–point image analysis tool is highly practical and appears to reliably assess lung disease severity.
