Maizels M – There are numerous reasons to consider psychiatric screening for migraine patients, as well as valid objections to screening. Although psychiatric comorbidity has been consistently described for migraine patients, there is no evidence that treatment of psychiatric comorbidity influences headache outcomes. The author presents his perspectives on psychiatric screening, offers insight into currently available screening instruments, as well as some clinical pearls for screening.
