Heart Rate Recovery after 6 Minute Walk Test Predicts Pulmonary Hypertension in Patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Respirology, 10/19/2010
Swigris JJ et al. – This study adds to data that supports the validity of abnormal heart rate recovery at one–minute (HRR1) as a predictor of mortality and of Right heart catheterization–confirmed Pulmonary Hypertension in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Research is needed to further investigate the link between abnormal HRR1 and Pulmonary Hypertension and to elucidate heart–lung interactions at work during exercise and recovery in patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
