Dwyer A et al. – The data suggest that despite an unchanged catheter rate at dialysis initiation, the use of a vascular access coordinator implementing an aggressive, multidisciplinary access program can significantly increase the arteriovenous fistula rate while decreasing grafts and prevalent catheter use.
