Clinical prediction rule to diagnose post-infectious bronchiolitis obliterans in children
Pediatric Pulmonology, 10/22/09
Colom AJ et al. – The BO–Score is a simple–to–use clinical prediction rule, based on variables that are readily available. A BO–Score of 7 or more predicts a diagnosis of post–infectious BOs with high accuracy.
Alejandro J. Colom, 10/29/09
| Since infant pulmonary function testing is not available at most medical centers and because characteristic HRCT scan images are not present in all patients, both over- and under-diagnosis of the disease are common in post-infectious bronchiolitis obliterans. Knowing the predictive power of the individual diagnostic parameters and using them in combination may allow us to perform a more accurate diagnosis. |
