Plowman GM et al. – The authors report a 31–year–old man with an obstructive bronchial lesion due to herpes simplex type 2 infection, who responded promptly to endoscopic resection and oral treatment with acyclovir. Exophytic lesions of the respiratory tract are rare, potentially life–threatening, but readily treated complication of herpes simplex virus infection in HIV–infected individuals.
