Markos AR – There is a clear and progressive trend of rising percentages of ‘severe dyskaryosis' in laboratory reported GU medicine cervical smears. The trend and observations indicate that GU medicine physicians should take young women's concern on cervical cancer seriously. The programme of opportunistic cervical screening in GU medicine should not be discouraged.
