Bergmans AMC et al. – The single–tube real–time PCR assay proved to be suitable for direct detection and identification of dermatophytes in nail, skin and hair samples with minimal total assay time and hands–on time, without the need for post–PCR analysis, and with good sensitivity and specificity.
