| We were interested in finding an affordable way to decrease high rates of CVC-BSIs (up to 16 CVC-BSI per 1000 device days) in this facility. Based on prior data and cost, we decided to try daily chlorhexidine baths. The intervention was succesful decreasing CVC-BSI rates. Furthermore, when the intervention was discontinued by the administration, the CVC-BSI rates when up again. |
