Morioka K et al. – The MSD–ELISAs showed high specificity. They produced a very low background of negative samples, and were able to detect FMDV antigens from clinical samples, with results correlating with those of real–time RT–PCR. The sensitivity and specificity of the MSD–ELISAs seem to be sufficient for the antigenical diagnosis of FMDV.
