Association of parvovirus B19 infection with glomerulonephritis in an immunocompetent host: A case report
Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 09/16/09
Obeid KM et al. – The authors present the case of an immunocompetent host with acute glomerulonephritis following parvovirus B19 infection. Renal biopsy demonstrated immune–mediated disease; parvovirus B19 DNA was detected in renal tissue and blood. The patient improved with corticosteroid therapy. Repeat serology 3 months later confirmed recovery from the acute viral infection, although viraemia persisted.
