This report is the result of a collaboration between a gay African association (ALTERNATIVE CAMEROUN), the international coalition of community-based association fighting AIDS (PLUS Coalition) and a group of researchers from INSERM in France. It illustrates that it is possible to do research with people, and not only for people. New data were generated through this network alliance between activists and researchers. Such data would have been difficult to obtain without such a collaborative network.
