Yager EJ et al. – This review focuses on current advances toward the development of an effective PMED DNA vaccine against influenza, including strategies to enhance vaccine immunogenicity, the potential for PMED–based DNA vaccines to improve protection in the vulnerable elderly population, and the prospects for a vaccine capable of providing cross–protection against both seasonal and pandemic strains of influenza.
