Recent Developments in Birth Control and STD Prevention for Men
U.S. Pharmacist, 08/26/09
Pray WS – Females who wish to practice birth control and prevent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) have a myriad of options available to them, including the contraceptive sponge, oral contraceptives, and the female condom.1 However, the options available to males are comparatively narrow, consisting mainly of condoms or a vasectomy. At this time in the United States, condoms are the only temporary method of birth control and STD prevention available to males. Therefore, any new development or FDA action in regard to condoms has a profound effect on millions of men.
