Vickery K et al. – Washing endoscopes under high flow rates with some detergents removes established biofilm and retards biofilm generation, emphasizing the importance of cleaning before disinfection. Continued research into the physicochemical mechanisms of biofilm adherence and removal is needed to optimize detergents.
